LUST DIES, NOT THE LOVE
A boy proposes a girl, the girl too likes that man. They dream of being together for a life, they promise to take care of each other for life long, to be with each other for life long, to love each other for life long. But destiny had planned something else. Boy meets with an accident, his appealing body becomes a scary one. His feeling for the girl is same, the girl is same, the boy is same but boy's body is not the same and so the LOVE between the two breaks. The girl rejects the boy.
While falling in love, people see the external beauty and very rarely internal attributes are given weight. A small crack in relationship and then so called LOVE dies. But was that one a LOVE in the first place at all. Love never dies, it is eternal, it is promising, it is ever existing in true relationships. It is the only lust that has short span of life. Lust rules in the mind, till the time external beauty is appealing to heart and eyes. With the time, our mind gets lusty either to some other thing or some other person. Love remains true love in all situations. It doesn't depend on your partner's attitude or his forms, or his presence. Love is very subtle and it manifests in the care we take for our partner.
Gopies of Vrindavan had true love for Krishna, it was not lust, it was love. Whether Krishna was present or not, they continued to like him, to love him. Prahalad Maharaj had true love for Lord Vishnu and thus he was able to remember him in all situations, even when his life was going through turmoils again and again. It was the love of Tukaram that attracted Vitthaldev and ultimately he got the association of the Lord.
Love in material world is lust only, a reflection of true love is found in mother's love for her child, that selfless love is just the image of love that devotees have for Krishna. Thus Love is forever, but lust has an end. Thus intelligence lies in taking a step towards LOVE than towards LUST.
